December Message from the East Brothers, I humbly offer my last message from the East. This has been a busy year for our Lodge, and together we’ve enjoyed brotherly love and friendship, raised funds for charity, raised a few new Master Masons, honored our past, and set our Lodge’s financial base on firmer ground. For the first time in many years we’re putting money back into our long term endowment fund, and have set aside money towards a scholarship for a worthy high school student. The community at large has seen Hiram Lodge #18 at its best, and congratulations is due to all of you, my Brothers; the members of our Lodge. Freemasonry’s ties to the Ancient Mysteries relate to the story of Life, the Wheel of the Year and the ever-constant cycle of growth, mastery, passing on, and re-birth. As such, I’ve passed through that level of time towards the end of my Masonic year, to pass that threshold from the “all-powerful” to the “all-wise” as Masters of Lodges have done for hundreds of years. At least that’s what I’ve been told by those who have trod this path before me. Soon, a new Master will begin his journey. Have a joyous holiday season! Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and have a most wonderful New Year. May God bless our Craft and may He bless Hiram Lodge #18. It has been an honor to serve. Bill Hillman WM, Hiram Lodge #18 |
