Dear Brother,
Pursuant to our current Temple Corporation by-Laws Adopted December 20, 1961, whereby:
Article II: Membership 3: Each member of Hiram Lodge No. 18, A.F. & A.M. shall during the period of such membership in said Lodge, be a member of this Corporation. Article VI: Meetings of the Corporation 21: Special meetings of the Corporation may be called at any time by the President, by any three members of the Board of Directors or on written petition of fifteen members of the Corporation. Fifteen days notice of such meeting, specifying the matter to be acted upon, shall be given by mailing a copy of such notice to each member of the Corporation. 22: No business other than that specified in the notice shall be transacted at any special meeting of the Corporation. 23: The presence of nine members of the Corporation at the annual or a special meeting shall constitute a quorum, and all questions shall be decided by a majority vote unless otherwise specified in these By-Laws Article XIII : Amendments 35: These By-Laws may be altered, amended or added to by the Corporation at the annual meeting or any special meeting-of the Corporation called for that purpose by a majority vote of the members present at the meeting, notice of such proposed amendments or repeal having been mailed to each member of the Corporation at least two weeks prior to the date of the special or annual meeting.
A special meeting of the Masonic Temple Corporation of Newtown is hereby called for May 18th, 2011 The Special meeting will take place during a period of refreshment at the stated communication / degree scheduled for that evening which will begin at 7:30 PM. The sole purpose of this special meeting is to vote on proposed changes and replacement of our 1961 Temple Corporation By-Laws with a new set of By-laws and Articles of Incorporation which has been revised and approved with the assistance of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut A.F & A.M legal affairs committee and Legal Counsel. Copies of the old and new by-laws and articles of incorporation will be posted at the lodge for inspection and on our website. The changes of and full revision of the Articles of Incorporation and by-laws is necessary to: 1) Comply with Grand Lodge Rules and Regulations 2) Meet requirements of the Internal Revenue Service relating to our status as a 501 (C) 2 non-profit organization, exempt from Federal income tax. 3) Bring these from what was appropriate in 1961 to what we need as an organization now.

Attached are the Articles of Incorporation and By-laws which the committee had approved as conforming to GL Rules & Regulations in November 2010 which the lodge subsequently reviewed by Attorney Creighton.
As noted no changes were made so we simply removed the editing in order to create a clean copy.
You now need to notice a meeting of the members to vote on the revisions. If approved by the members, please have the appropriate officers sign both documents and mail the original signed copies to me.
