Directed by Gene Golaszewski
Performance date: October 16, 2010 Doors open at 7:30pm
HISTORY: From the outside The Little Theatre on Orchard Hill Road looks rather unassuming, but on the inside it holds a dynamic environment for cultivating the dramatic arts in Newtown. In 1935 the youth minister for Newtown Congregational Church, the Rev. Paul Cullens knew just what to create to fulfill the church's financial needs. He came up with the idea to raise funds to send the youth of his church to a conference by putting on a play. More than seven decades later, the Town Players of Newtown are continuing what the young pastor started. The barn where the theater company holds its productions was originally used as a storage facility for the troupe. Plays and productions were put on at the Edmond Town Hall until the 1950's when the troupe began holding them at the barn. The cozy theater seats only 70. We will be serving cheese, crackers, wine and non-alcoholic beverages briefly before the show and during the intermission. Food and drinks are not permitted in the theatre. Tickets are $25.00 in advance, and at the door only by reservation. Make checks payable to Hiram Lodge #18
